The Market Believes...Anthony Edwards Is Ascending

Anthony Edwards (aka "Ant-Man"), who received his first All-NBA award this year (2nd-team) has a very, very bright future.

A few weeks ago Senior ESPN Writer Zach Lowe highlighted Ant's limitless ceiling, concisely summarizing how quickly the 2020 first overall pick seems to be realizing his potential:

Good teams learn about themselves when they are short-handed. The Wolves are learning more about Edwards every game, and what they see is special.

In advance of the Minnesota Timberwolves taking on the defending NBA Champion Denver Nuggets, public speculation markets are clear.

Ant-Man's dunks aren't the only ones soaring - his player stock is surging through the roof.

In the last 6 months, Ant-Man's player index is up >21% with a market cap of over $14.5 million!

After averaging daily trading volumes below $5,000 for the bulk of the winter...there were 5 days the last 60 days where daily trading volumes for Ant-Man's trading cards were in excess of $25,000.

Conclusion: The market demand for premier Anthony Edwards cards is growing, and growing quickly

With the top 6 cards (by market cap) evenly split between Prizm & National Treasures, it is clear the 2020 Panini Anthony Edwards rookie supply has been a banner asset for collectors.

If the +164 series moneyline underdogs T-Wolves (as of May 3rd) are somehow able to score the upset... WeTheHobby believes there that would make for a very happy group of long Anthony Edwards investors.

(Our ARIMA prediction algorithms indicate a daily trading volume for Ant-Man cards floor of ~$22,300 for rest of NBA Playoffs if the T-Wolves are able to score the upset).

While prediction markets continue to price in implied Ant-Man asset appreciation, the Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Denver Nuggets series still has to be settled on the court. The seemingly perennial MVP Nikola Jokic might have something to say about these investment approaches - but either way, we can't wait to watch.

P.S. we'll be watching the series at our event space at 23 Arlington Street Rochester if you are a fan of either team!
